Environmental activism is the combined political force of people who take action to protect the environment. Environmental visuals support the activists to communicate their presentations to the general public with a focus on solving the ecological issues. The research analyses the visual representations on environment in the form of posters,magazines,documentaries and paintings and the impact created by these visuals among the people of Tamil Nadu.It focuses on the effectiveness of visual communication and the need for the visual media as an essential tool to solve the environmental crisis of today. Visual communication is a multidisciplinary field which has a strong substance to transform the messages in an effective manner. The research report analyses through qualitative aspects of the visual reprentations and the impact among people by administering questionnaire,group discussions and also by viewing documentaries and interviews with environmental activists.It critically views the difficult perspectives of ecological crisis globally and the role of visual representations produced by the environmental activists in Tamil Nadu.
