Abstract

Divorce is a sad moment for a married couple and people try their best to avoid it. But while couples are responsible for it and are even prepared to face it most of times as they see it coming, their children are neither responsible nor prepared to lose their parents.

This research review aims to highlight the various ill effects of parent's divorce and hence make parents more responsible and aware of the influences they can put on their children unknowingly.

This research review finds that parents’ divorce is emotionally and psychologically devastating on young children. For children it's not only the loss of love and nurturance of parents but also many other they lose many key benefits like skills of parents and financial benefits. It was also found that after divorce the parenting skills of parents also diminish severely. There were findings that reveal that children of divorced parents or single parents have many troubles in education, emotional relationships and they have higher chances of getting many other psychiatric troubles.
