Abstract

The term Emotional Intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to identify, use, understand and manage emotions and emotional information. It has been suggested that there are individual differences in our ability to utilize emotions and emotional information and as such EI has become a popular construct with researchers and practitioners alike. In this study the researcher's wants to find out the relationship of Emotional Intelligence with stress and anxiety of employees in chemical industry at SIPCOT. Primary data was collected by the researcher with the help of structured questionnaire administered to the middle level executives in two leading chemical industries at SIPCOT, Tamilnadu. 123 employees from those organizations constitute the sample size. Simple Random Sampling using lottery method was adopted to select the respondents. To test the reliability of the data collected, the researcher used Cronbach's Alpha test and the value is 0.658 which shows that the data has satisfactory reliability and validity. Using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) some of the relevant tests were carried out like Multiple Regression and reliability test. Some of the relevant findings were derived that will be significant to present Indian scenario
