Metaphors of memory in T.S Eliot's poetry

The paper aims to take an extended look at T. S Eliot's poetry as a crucial work in understanding the motifs of memory toward a poetics of transcendence. Here we find the working of memory through the images in which his thoughts present themselves. Sometimes the stimulus allows Eliot to prolong the moment so that we can experience its energy. This paper goes into explaining the denotations and connotations of the terms ‘metaphors’ and ‘memory’ over the times. It assigns a more important role to the different forms of memory, which bring to us reconciliation within ourselves. It analyses how Eliot goes beyond time and suggests the ultimate unification of all experience and reality. This paper summons memory to relive the experience but it re-appears in a different form and substance altogether.
