Abstract

We all have been through an education system that deals with how to make a living! But we have never been through a system of education that teaches how to live? At times we suspect if there is a training of this sort or not.

Building World Class Educational Institutions involves not only the development of physical infrastructure but it also involves looking in to the quality of training provided and the competence of the students who pass out of such institutes. Can be termed as Human Potential Development, this particular aspect of training includes not only the technical aspects of a student's course work but also equipping them to handle a multitude of challenges both personal and professional with comfort and ease.

Looking into this aspect this paper presents a favorable view of including ‘TRAINING TO LIVE’ within the course curriculum of students so that they can handle situations that involve decision-making and are stressful both personally and professionally. In order to propose a training that aims at developing in students principle centered leadership an empirical study of people has been made. In this paper it will also be looked at if there are universal values and if so we can train people into imbibing those values so as to attain physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. We also propose to outline certain technologies that can be fruitfully employed in dealing with trying situations such as Family Friends, Work and Society that include ‘Language as a tool of Creation’, ‘Courage Consideration Matrix’, Proactive Conversations etc.
