Abstract

Students learn information in a certain pattern within a specific context. When teachers introduce new content, the focus should attempt to create pattern and relate it to content students already know. Creating patterns refers to meaningful organization and categorization of information. To make the classroom learner centered, teachers must develop students’ understanding of course content by enriching the classroom environment to include physical, emotional and social aspects. Brain based learning can be considered as one of the methods to create such meaningful learning experience in the classroom. Brain based learning theories provides sufficient knowledge and makes suggestions for incorporating best practice applications for the classroom.
