Internet has both positive and negative effects on adolescents. While on one side it helps adolescent to interact with their friends on a regular basis, make new ones, learn about new trends and developments in the different parts of the world; on the other side it is making them go distant with real, face to face communications and also making them lonely. The aim of this paper was to investigate the effect of gender and internet use on adolescents’ loneliness. Data was collected from 120 adolescent students out of which 60 were male students and 60 were female students, aged between 18-24years, studying in the various departments of Ravenshaw University. It was found that internet use had a significant effect upon loneliness where as gender had no significant effect upon adolescents loneliness.
