The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between mental health, attachment styles and coping strategies. The research method was a descriptive study kind of correlation. To accomplish this goal, in a correlation study, 300 university students (150 female and 150 male) were selected from Humanities Faculty University of Guilan through a cluster random sampling method in the 2012–2013 academic years. To collect data, Simpson Attachment Styles Questionnaire, Billings and Moos Coping strategies, and General Health Questionnaire that have acceptable reliability and validity were used. Research findings suggested that there were significant positive relationship between mental health disorders with avoidant and anxious attachment styles and emotion-oriented coping strategy. There were significant negative relationship between mental health disorders with secure attachment style and problem-oriented coping strategy. Based on the results of a multi- variable regression analysis, anxious attachment style and problem-oriented and emotion-oriented coping strategies explained 16 percent of the variance in mental health disorders.
