Cedaw and Issue of Women's Political Participation in Nagaland

Abstract

CEDAW is the only comprehensive international U.N. treaty that specifically focuses on the rights of women. It contains comprehensive provisions on women's human rights, including what actions should be taken to promote, fulfil and protect women from the infringement of the rights including women's equal participation in politics. The aim of the paper is to analyse the Naga women's political participation under the framework of CEDAW.
