Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment at Workplace: Some Reflections

Abstract

Sexual harassment of working women at the place of employment amounts to violation of rights of gender equality and right to life and liberty which is clear violation of Article 14, 15 and 21 of the Indian Constitution. Various national and international instruments have been constituted to curb this problem. But still it exists in various forms at different places. So the paper focuses on Firstly, analysis of various human rights of working women; secondly, the legislative and judicial responses to violation of these rights; and finally, a review of the provisions of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013
