Developmental prevention of violent crimes with family-based approach

Abstract

Available statistics show that the perpetrators of many violent crimes are in age classes of child, adolescent and teenager (mostly between 16–25 years).

Criminology studies express that this group, are not seeking breaching social and moral norms, necessarily by perpetrating crime but they are expressing their social, family and personal problems that caused their inconsistence with society by perpetrating crimes. Actually by commitment crime they show the critical situation dominant society in dangerous environment such as family, school and workplace and thereby they require help. Among these dangerous environments, the family unorganized situation has significant importance, because the family is the most fundamental unit of society and has most important role in child and adolescents socialization. Also the child obtains primarily experience of his or her relation with others. The present essay will identify family jeopardize factors, after studying violent crimes and developmental prevention with family-based approach and after that will study protective items that can rebuff these kind of jeopardies. And finally, in spite of testifying the significant effect of this model in violent crimes preventions, provide methods for crime prevention in family.
