The main purpose of the following research was to study the effectiveness of Young's schema therapy in enhancing one's capability to caress his wife. The method of the research was a semi-experimental one with pre-test, post-test and with control group and random assignment of participants. The population consisted of all couples attended counseling center in 2013. The statistical sample of the research consisted of 30 persons who were chosen using available sampling. Afterwards, they were randomly divided into two groups of control and experimental with 15 individuals in each group. The data collection was carried out using Young's schema therapy questionnaire (2005) and Bagarozzi's questionnaire of intimacy between couples (2001). The analysis of obtained data was done through SPSS software in two parts of descriptive (average, mean, variance, standard deviation, frequency distribution tables and diagrams) and inferential (covariance analysis). The findings of statistical test of the research hypotheses demonstrated that schema therapy has impact on intimacy of couples and leads to promotion of wife caressing in dimensions of psychological intimacy, intellectual intimacy, sex intimacy and physical intimacy in men. Moreover, according to the results of the present investigation there was not significant difference between the two groups of control and experimental in total intimacy score and dimensions of emotional intimacy, spiritual intimacy, aesthetic intimacy and social-recreational intimacy.
