The present investigation was aimed to study the relationship of control source with mental health and coping styles of male high school student in region 5 of Tehran city in the academic year of 2013–2014. The population consisted of 850 male high school student in region 5 of Tehran city, which 168 of them were chosen as sample size using Cochran formula and stratified random sampling method. The data collection was carried out using three questionnaires of source control of Lonson (1973), mental health of Goldberg (1979) and coping styles of Rager and Najarian (2006). The data analysis and hypotheses testing was done through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Smart PLS 2.0 software in two phases of measurement model and structural. In the first section, the technical features of the questionnaire including reliability, convergent validity and divergent validity for the PLS were investigated. In the second section, the significant coefficients of the software were utilized to check the research hypotheses. The results demonstrated that control source and mental health have significant and positive relationship with coping styles of high school male students in the research population.
