Language is an organism, says Lewis Thomas. It is the realized property of human species. As long as these species are here, languages are here. Languages could be thought up on the line of living organism. Within these species, there has been struggle for development and survival. Languages do compete with one another for survival. In this paper I try to observe the space where a language is challenged by another and why and how a language has survived more. I have tried to apply some Darwinian principles of selection and survival in the realm of languages.
