Increasing demand for higher education, along with deficit in public resources, has required students and their family investment in higher education. This research was conducted with purpose of studying students’ perception of investment in Post-Secondary Education. Statistical population included students in Post-Secondary Education in state universities in Tehran in 2011–2012. Sample population was 373 students of Amir Kabir University, Tarbiat Moallem University, Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran University, Sharif University and Allameh Tabatabaee University, selected by using cluster random sampling. A researchers’ designed questionnaire was used to collect data about perception of students. Data was analyzed by use of LISREL¬ and SPSS software. Findings indicate that student perceptions of the investment and its components (tuition fees, Future cash income, Future non-monetary income, loans and support systems) stands a significantly higher than expected average, and there are significant differences between the perception of male and female students. the perception of investment in Post-Secondary Ed, can be a determining factor in students’ choice and will help administrators in policy making.
