The Role of Psychological Empowerment on Senior Managers Performance in Petroleum Industry

Abstract

This Research aims to investigate the relationship between the senior managers’ psychological empowerment and their performance in Tehran's petroleum industry. Along this, it was first striven to identify the factors associated with organizational performance, and then the factors which were related to the senior managers’ psychological empowerment. After finding about the factors influenced two variables of organizational performance and the senior managers of oil industry's psychological empowerment, the senior manager's empowerment contribution and the organization's position in terms of organizational performance, as well as the relation between both variables were evaluated. The main aim of this research was to determine the level of human force empowerment contribution in Tehran's petroleum industry and the organizational performance in this organization whereby essential approaches to improve empowerment in this force and enhance organizational performance level towards learning can be provided. the next aim of the research was to identify the factors which were associated with organizational performance as well as the factors which were related to the senior managers ‘s empowerment, by which specifying the relationship between psychological empowerment and organizational performance was found as another aim of research. For this purposes, literature review and theoretical framework were used to find the important indices where on the Lisrel software was used to approve the relationship existing between these two variables " the senior managers’ psychological empowerment and organizational performance".
