Reviewing the Relationship between Technical and Vocational Training and Tendency towards Deviant Behaviors

Training has always enjoyed desirable function and that consistent with development of science and technology, the quality of skills training has been promoted in jails as well. Nowadays, prisoners in jails suffer from serious problems and inconveniences, leading to deviant behaviors. The main goal of this study is to recognize the relationship between technical and vocational training of prisoners with a tendency towards deviant behaviors. Deviant behaviors comprises six dimensions including abnormalities of theft, defraud, general, narcotics, alcoholic drinks and sexual relations. The data of this research has been collected using a questionnaire and 200 persons as sample. The validity of the questionnaire has been confirmed using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient (0.97). The results of this research have revealed that there is no significant different in the extent of tendency of prisoners toward deviant behaviors between the two trained and untrained groups. Considering the dimensions of the tendency toward deviant behaviors, there is a significant difference between the two trained and untrained groups only in the tendency toward abnormality of consuming alcoholic drinks.
