Abstract

As it is obvious, the space can affect on individuals behavior and their life by different ways and also it can pave the way for promoting the cultural and social arrangements of society by the principal and correct planning and the design of defensible urban spaces. Also, without attention to these spaces, the society creates a bed for crime and criminal growth resulting in the creation of undefensible urban space, which is very common in our community. In this paper, the theories and key concepts of theorists in defensible urban space field and place effect on crime are pointed out. In this research, after categorizing the existing theories in this field, abtain key concepts will be obtained that can be used for minimizing the crime in spaces. Also, in this paper, the reasons of unfeasible urban spaces are mentioned. A typical sample of this research is Shiraz Saadi district in which, unfortunately, the term of social physical, can be regarded as one of the inappropriate contexts of this city.
