Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman: A Deconstructive Study

This study is an attempt to have a fresh look at Miller's Death of Salesman by shifting it from the world of structuralism to the Derridean world of deconstruction. The researcher intends to introduce the preventive logos of life and then push them to the poststructural arena of deconstruction, where they face a safe and just challenge. Deconstruction does not intend to destruct or nullify any concepts, but simply tries to claim the nonpresent of present. The study has tried to highlight the issue of the presence of presence in Death of a Salesman, where the characters and specifically Wily Loman is deeply entangled in. Ultimately the study suggests that it is through the genealogical analysis of any issues that man may start believing in alterity and iterability, which may save him from the logocentric aporias.
