Selecting Means of Transportation by Combinatorial Dematel Method and Taguchi Loss Function: A Case of Doosheh Haraz Amol Dairy Company

Selecting means of transportation is a critical issue for ground transportation companies. Therefore, one systematic and scientific method is necessary for solving this problem. This paper tries to present an approach based on Taguchi loss function for selecting urban transportation vehicle to Doosheh Haraz Amol Company. Generally, Taguchi loss function can be used for evaluation and comparison of options. Considering kind of variables (bidirectional, minimal unidirectional and maximal unidirectional), this function can translate all variables into loss language and provide possibility of comparing options loss. Regarding the subject of this study, it is also possible to select the best means of transportation through this method and considering loss of functions (better option with lower cost). For this purpose, calculated weight of measures through Dematel method, is used as input of Taguchi loss function and in fact one combinatorial method is provided for solving problem.
