Abstract

Any contract for the sale of goods between international commercial traders may be subject to the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (hereafter CISG). The Convention is a modern uniform law that regulates the domain of international sales and officially adopted in the historical Vienna Convention, 1980. The CISG has achieved a great success on a global scale, as it brings together sates with remarkably different legal and economic traditions, and has influenced many legislative reforms. The Convention established a uniform substantive law on CISG and was developed by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.

This study follows a development perspective in which development of International Sales Law in International level with the purpose of understanding two main questions; 1) how did International Sales Law grow in International level? And, 2) How far the international conventions, are effective in facilitating the International Sales Law.
