The main purpose of this paper is to study the social empowerment of micro women entrepreneurs through the freedom of mobility and ability in executing rights.
The research design adopted was descriptive in nature. Quantitative research approach was applied. Using purposive random sampling method, a total of 130 women from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka were interviewed using a pre structured interview schedule.
Rights empowerment index and Mobility empowerment index were calculated. The significant difference among the four groups of respondents regarding their empowerment indices were further analyzed with the help of ANOVA. It was seen that the rights empowerment was low and the mobility empowerment was moderate. It was found that there is a significant difference among the various groups of respondents in the mobility, but there was no significant difference among the groups of respondents in the execution of rights.
