There are several questions that have remained unanswered and many issues or problems for which academicians are still looking for a solution in the field of the property-acquisitive power of the government through ‘eminent domain’. This paper addresses this topic from a legal and economic point of view by way of a recognition of the theoretical issues involved as also a review of literature and thereby identifies some areas for further research.
