Abstract

The empirical study examines the impact of emerging HR practices in Indian organizations on Employee Retention using two constructs HR practices and Intention to stay. The data for the study was collected from a sample of 50 employees of State Bank of India (zonal office) in the state of Chhattisgarh. The scale measuring the HR practices & Intention to stay of the employees was developed by the researcher based on review of earlier studies done in this context. The internal consistency coefficient obtained for HR practices in State Bank of India was 0.92. The results revealed that HR practices is related to employee's Intention to Stay (r=.654 p<0.01) and has an important role to play in ensuring employee Retention.
