Abstract

The research focuses to know about the contribution of historic monuments of Patiala the people living in nearby area. The scope of the study was restricted to only Patiala region. This paper will serve as to know about the contribution of historic monuments of Patiala towards the people living in and nearby area. The study will be conducted on the convenient sampling and the inherent disadvantages were eliminated throw certain open-ended questions. Tourism impacts are widely distributed in the terms of economic, social and environmental or physical aspects. In addition there are impacts for which the synchronized effort of tourism stakeholders is required, the perception and opinion of tourism stakeholders about tourism impacts and related issues of community development in selected destination of Patiala. This will identify the emergent need of stakeholder‘s synchronization for sustainable tourism development. The main strength of Punjab here is number of historic heritages sites, number of pilgrimage centre, rich in art and cultural and unique handicraft.
