The present study aim to examine the effects of four weeks of resistance exercise with alfalfa extract on blood glucose (insulin and glucose) in skinny teenage girls. For this purpose, 40 untrained skinny teenage girls with a mean age of 16 to 19 years participated in this study. These girls were randomly divided into four groups: Control group, exercise group, supplement group and a group that in addition to resistance training, received daily alfalfa supplement. Resistance exercise program include the bench press, open the knee (front of leg), Butterfly, bend the knees (back of leg), bend the arm (front of arm), boat sitting, lifting the heel (twin), lat from back, open arm 3 times a week for four weeks. Bloodletting was done following an overnight fast of 12 hours in a 48 hours before and after the exercise, glucose and insulin levels were analyzed. Data were used by t statistical model for dependent groups, variance and covariance analysis. The significant level is considered for all calculations (P0.05). All calculations were done by SPSS-16 software. Results showed that the resting level of blood sugar (glucose) in exercise, supplement and exercise-supplement groups similarly found a significant increase (p = 0.000). However, a significant change was not observed in the control group (p = 0.16). The resting level of insulin in exercise, supplement and control groups found significant decreases (respectively P = 0.000, P = 0.000 and p = 0.039). But this change was not significant in exercise-supplement group (P = 0.054).
