Irrigation Development in Haryana

Irrigation is a most important input for agricultural development. The present study is an attempt to analyse and discuss about the growth rate of area under irrigation by the different sources of irrigation and gross area irrigated under principal crops during the different phases of time in Haryana state. The Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) is estimated by using log linear functions on the time series data. Main finding of this study shows that the growth rate in gross and net area irrigated is more than gross and net sown area in Haryana state.
