Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between practicing religious beliefs and the personality traits of the students of PNU. This research was descriptive and correlation analysis was performed. The Sample population was all incoming students 2013–2014 of PNU of Sahneh. 164 patients (79 girls and 85 boys) were selected as samples by simple random sampling. For data collection, two Questionnaires were used: one for practice of religious beliefs (Temple) and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ). Relationships between variables using Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed with the same method. The results showed that the relationship between the practice of religious beliefs and Psychoticism and Neuroticism was negative and its relationship with Extraversion was positive. Practice of religious beliefs could be significant to predict personality characteristics.
