This study intends to review Iranian heroic stories under the title of ‘romance’ and based on a chivalry and ‘Ayari’ tradition. Ayari in Iranian romance has the same influence as knighthood in medieval European romance. In this study, this subject is pursued in three famous Iranian romances: Samak Ayar, Firooz shah nameh and Abu moslem Nameh.
