Abstract

The purpose of this study was to validate university's power of response to environment scale. This scale was formulated and presented in a research by Torkzadeh and Taghizadeh (2012) looking at response to environment as a behavioral system including three dimensions; Conceptual, Structural, Functional and through a systemic approach and a strategic view. Study population consisted of entire lecturers and staff of Shiraz Applied Science University centers that among them 260 lecturers and 90 staff were selected using simple cluster sampling method. Correlation between items and total numbers of each dimension was estimated using item analysis method to determine the validity of scale and results showed a high validity. Confirmatory factor analysis test also showed that each of tripartite dimensions (Conceptual, Structural, and Functional) held a high validity to explain the power of response to environment at university. Moreover, Cronbach's alpha results showed a high reliability of the scale, too. Aforementioned scale is offered at the end of this research.
