The purpose of this paper is to throw a light on proclivity of rural female engineering students towards becoming successful entrepreneurs in South India. This study also explores the motivators that encourage them to become successful entrepreneurs and the significant obstacles that might prevent them from the intention of becoming successful entrepreneurs. This paper aims to reveal the results of an exploratory study conducted on 400 female students sampled from 20 engineering colleges located in rural provinces of South India on basis of area-cum-purposive sampling technique. The outcome of this research clearly revealed that there was a high degree of entrepreneurial proclivity found among rural female engineering students to kick-start the new ventures in South India. Moreover, the findings of this study also confirmed that the driving forces have a positive influence and obstacles have a negative influence on the intention of becoming successful entrepreneurs in South India.
