At present, regular periodic assessments in colleges are conducted using traditional paper based exams. Also, attendance of the students is taken by careful supervision of the teacher. In order to reduce the man working hours for paper distribution, collection and evaluation and to reduce the carbon foot print, we propose an M-Quiz system to automate the regular assessments. Most of the students can use the hand-held devices such as mobile, tablets for attending this M-Quiz. In this mobile application, the instructor generates and launches the quiz questions from the server and the student responds to the questions. The evaluation and results are displayed immediately. It also takes care of attendance and feedback from the students. In this paper, we developed and deployed this application for college students. Results proved that student participation is increased as well as it reduces the time and efforts for conduction in the regular assessments.
