A Performance Investigation and Mitigation of Harmonics for the Wind Powered Generators

Abstract

The hasty consumption of electrical energy across the globe and the collision of green house emission shifts the conventional power generation concerning towards the renewable. Though the system is non-conventional, the issue with increased energy capturing and power quality opens a gateway to the semiconductor technology to consummate the protocol. The research dissemination here focuses on the accurate prediction of energy transfer capability in permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and dual fed induction generator (DFIG) of equal rating preferred in wind energy conversion systems (WECS) based on their performance. The comparison wing elevates the outcome of power and the quality of power through the incorporation of peak power trackers and harmonic trap filters. As a part of validation a notable case study has been underwent which proclaims along with MATLAB/SIMULINK result, an optimal solution to the wind energy conversion systems.
