Abstract

XML is the widely accepted format for data storage, processing and dissemination over the web. Secure content dissemination of XML document offers challenges regarding secure label size, labeling time and security. For efficient secure labeling and security, it is essential to propose a secure labeling scheme for XML document. In this paper, we propose a new secure labeling scheme called Security Enhanced Labeling Scheme (SELS) that effectively labels the nodes of an XML tree. The proposed secure labeling scheme SELS achieves optimization by decreasing memory, time and simultaneously enhances the security. The major advantage of this proposed secure labeling scheme SELS for secure content dissemination is that it reduces the storage cost and also the labeling time of secure labels. The proposed secure labeling scheme SELS is implemented for various XML documents available in the areas of social sciences. Experimental results show that the proposed secure labeling scheme SELS provides storage and time efficiency with increased security.
