The introduction of powerlooms in India happened during 19th century. Till 1935 the growth of this industry was slow. Infact, this was major breakthrough in the weaving industry as manpower was substituted by mechanical power after the invention of powerloom which replaced existing handlooms. over the last three decades powerloom sector occupy a prominent position with a 22.05 lakh power looms operating in the country and it has changed the looming sector drastically due to its technological advancements. This study aims to perform cluster analysis of powerloom entrepreneurs of Tamilnadu.
