Iran's legislator allows the sides of a commercial contract to set an arbitration agreement for resolution of probable disputes. This arbitrator can be chosen by the sides of a contract or by the court. However, the important point here is that Iran's legislator has set certain conditions for the selected arbitrator. For example the arbitrator should have independence and he or she should also be fair. In addition, the nationality of the arbitrator should be taken into account as well. Furthermore, Iran's legislator has set other conditions for arbitrators. For example there are limitations in terms of selection of arbitrators. Therefore, in this research it has been tried to investigate the legal requirements of arbitrators from the point of view of Iranian laws.
