This study was conducted with the goal of investigating the relationship between organizational social capital and happiness of faculty members of Urmia University of Medical Sciences in 2013. The present study is a descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study. The environment of this study was the faculties of Urmia University of Medical Sciences. A sample with the size of 151 individuals was selected in the multi-stage stratified sampling method. The data collection was conducted through two questionnaires that were used in the previous studies and their validity and reliability were re-examined and confirmed in this study. The questionnaires were completed by the faculty members and the data was analyzed by means of SPSS19 Software. The mean and standard deviation of the total score of the social capital among the faculty members of Urmia University of Medical Sciences was 3.61 ± 0.574 and the level of their happiness was 3.56 ± 0.496. A positive and significant relationship was observed between social capital and the happiness of the faculty members of Urmia University of Medical Sciences (r=0.817). Thus, social capital is one of the factors whose improvement leads to an increase in the happiness of the faculty members.
