This paper evaluates the operational efficiency of selected commercial banks of Indian banking sector and analyzes their financial health. The selected banks are divided, into two groups, (6 public sector banks and 6 private sector banks) only 12 listed under CNX bank index as on march 31st 2012, that has been taken up for the study. This paper finds to support for the proposition in an environment where banks enjoy financial health. This Study reviewed the problem of bankruptcy and capital adequacy in times of economic distress, the Logit model would provide assistance in finding the financial viability of the firm using Z score incorporating Logit regression.
