Wind power is the renewable energy sources employed widely around the world for its benefits like minimum capital investment, short gestation period and environmental friendly. This paper investigates the impact of wind generation on voltage stability in transmission networks, taking into account the sporadic nature of wind generation. Power loss reduction in the distribution system is considered as a great issue from its evolution. Due to the changes in the climate and energy security, the integration of renewable energy with the efficiency of energy along with reduction in power loss is considered as a sustainable solution. When the renewable energy source is integrated with loss reduction, this will produce fruitful benefits. In this work, a Hybrid Gravitational Search Algorithm (HGSA) based optimization is used to resolve the optimal MVAR to be injected, thereby improving the voltage stability and system power capacity. The IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 14-bus Systems are used for the simulations and the results shows more improvements in the voltage stability margin. The wind generation is added to standard test systems and the penetration level is varied to assess the impact on voltage stability and power capability.
