Faculty Engagement in Business Schools and Students Attainment

Abstract

India has around 4000 Colleges offering MBA Program. Many of the colleges came up in the last decade when the economy growth was at its peak. Majority of the students who complete their course do not meet the expectations of the corporate world and thus the admissions at the colleges have reduced drastically. Many of the colleges have closed and most of them have applied for reduced intake of the students. Educational Institutions ought to design curriculum and value added courses at par with the industry requirements and implement new pedagogical tools for enhancing the efficiency of the teaching learning process augment the development programs in order to enhance the employability skills. The sample study was drawn from the management institutes locate across Tamil Nadu in South India and constituted of 212 Faculty members. The study reveals that the problem lies from the primary education itself. Education has to be strengthened from the grass root level and all entire teaching community the Ministry for Human Resources Development (MHRD) have a major role to play to enhance the employability skills in the form of Students engagement and adopting the right pedagogy The objective of this study is to examine the exact role as how the faculty members can enhance the employability skills.
