Crowdsourcing is any kind of outsourcing that includes a mass number of people actively participating in the project. In the field of graphic design it actually means that client can send open requirement about project or work “out to online sites for bid.“ It actually refers to how much money client are going to pay for a design, and mass number of designers can post their project for consideration or as a sample. Clients have the full powers to decide the design. Despite of so many efforts that have been spent by multiple designers instead the client chooses a single design and project that they like and are willing to pay only for that design. The graphic designers whose project has not been chosen receive no money or reward at all. Crowdsourcing gives clients the full power to have multiple graphic designers spending time and creativity on their single project and then they choose whichever design they like best and pay only for that project. Many company use crowdsourcing to acquire creative ideas from mass number of people. Unfortunately, these crowdsourcing practices may sometime results in ideas with low creativity then those ideas created by a graphic designer working in a firm or company.
This research evaluates the influence of crowdsourcing website and its role in the field of graphic designing. This study focus about the ethics of graphic designing with respect to crowdsourcing. Senior designers argue that crowdsourcing devalues and demotivates the designer and their process of design making and actually encourages people to treat design as a mere product and commodity.
Even though one who use say involving mass, undefined groups of design people can actually results in high creativity and productivity in less time.
