Students appear to be using the Internet for social communication with ever-increasing frequency. The purpose of this study is to examine the socio economic condition of the selected sample respondents and their level of satisfaction towards social networking sites. In doing so, this research focuses on two dimensions of social networking site use frequency (i.e., how often people use social networking sites) and amount (i.e., how much time people spend on social networks). The users of Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and few other social networking sites are investigated in this study. In this paper an attempt was made to identify the priority of different activities accomplished through social networking sites. For this purpose, the first-hand information was collected from the study group consisted of 400 social media users of college students in Erode District and the collected data was analyzed with the help of Uni-variate and Bi-variate analysis like simple percent analysis, two-way mean two-way table and chi-square test including Hentry Garret Ranking. Significant differences were found between social-economic data (used as independent variables) and level of satisfaction (used as dependent variable) in using social networking sites in all of the purposes mentioned.
