Quality management is a prime area of concern for manufacturing managers in today's world of cut throat competition. An efficient implementation of quality management practice has got its impact on the performance of the firm. Many a times, implementation is a difficult task as there are a number of areas and factors involved. Firms also find it difficult as the results of implementation are not tangible. During the last three decades a number of new initiatives have emerged in this area, but the underlying principles and variables have not changed much. This study is carried out among manufacturing industries in India to find out the relationship between various quality management practices and the performance of the firm. Seven constructs related to quality management practices are considered for the study. Correlation analysis suggests that quality management practices have a significant positive relationship with the performance. Multiple regression analysis identifies that top management commitment, process management and training has a significant impact on performance.
