Abstract

Supply Chain Management deals with the overall business processes and ways to make them efficient and profitable in the dynamic ever competing business environment which spreads its operations across boundaries. The primary role of Supply Chain Management is to enhance the product or service competitiveness. The present study is an effect to study, interpret and analyse the evolution of supply chain management. Basically Supply Chain Management is a part of Operational Management (OM). In the same way there are relationship among logistics and supply chain management. With the help of previous studies and available literature review the researcher have attempted to study various aspects of SCM and interpreted multiple organisational theories of SCM provided by experts as a result of extensive research in the same field and major focus is also given to the dimensions of Supply chain. Finally the researcher discussed preferences and priorities of Supply Chain Management concerns and factorising Supply Chain Management in manufacturing industries of Coimbatore District and the work ends with conclusion.
