Abstract

Corrosion is the gradual destruction of materials leads to failure. Welded components used in piping industry experience failures mainly due to corrosion. This research paper dealt with comparison of micro hardness and corrosion analysis of robotic gas metal arc welded component made by duplex stainless steel 316L with the Ni coated welded component. It is revealed that the Ni coated component has approximately 28.8% more hardness and has more product life.
