F2c: An Novel Distributed Denial Of Service Attack Mitigation Model for Saas Cloud Environment

Abstract

The problem of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks has been handled in various situations. The researchers has discussed various approaches to handle the DDoS attacks for the Service orient architectures like cloud environment. Further the software as a service in the cloud environment has great impact of DDoS attacks and available methods suffers to mitigate them efficiently. To improve the performance in mitigating the DDoS attacks, a novel F2C-(Flow-Frequency-Completeness) algorithm is discussed in this paper. The method monitors the service access from different users and generates the traces about the service access. Then the service frequency is computed using the access trace and for each service access the amount of payload given is identified. Similarly, from the service access trace the number of service access end up with success flag is identified to compute the completeness measure. Using all these measures, the method computes the trustworthy of the user to mitigate the malicious service request. The method produced efficient results in mitigating the denial of service attacks and improves the performance up to 99.8%.
