Abstract

The speed control of an IPMSM is attained by weakening the motor flux using the direct axis and quadrature axis current controllers. This paper demonstrates the application of Swam Intelligent techniques such as Bat algorithm (BA) and Artificial Co-operative Search Algorithm (ACSA) in PI controller design to control the speed of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous (IPMSM) motor. The well-known PI controller structure is chosen for these two current controllers. The objective is to minimize the Integral Square Erro r(ISE) of the two current controllers for maximum motor speed. The efficiency of the proposed controller is validated by adding the uncertainty in the torque. The effectiveness of the proposed controller has been successfully verified by means of simulation and the results are evaluated.
