Abstract

Energy is a critical limiting factor in a Mobile Ad hoc networks. In MANET nodes are formed dynamically. Due to the movement of nodes, link break will occur and also the node energy level will be reduced. To solve this problem, reliable path should be discovered between the source and destination. In this paper, proposed the energy efficient routing protocol based on AODV. The concept is in a network reducing the retransmission effect between source and destination, it improves the energy saving. This algorithm improves the energy consumption during data transmission and increases the network life time. To evaluate the network performance we consider the following parameters throughput, end to end delay, routing overhead, packet delivery ratio and energy consumption. The simulation will be done using the NS2
