A Novel Approach for System-On-Chip Test Scheduling using Genetic Algorithm

Abstract

In this paper, an efficient approach for the test scheduling problem of core based systems based on a two-stage Genetic Algorithm has been presented. The System-On-Chip [SOC] test scheduling problem is formulated in to a floor plan problem and sequence pair is used to represent it, meanwhile, a two-stage Genetic Algorithm is used to search for desired solutions. This two-stage Genetic Algorithm based method was implemented in C programming language and applied to ITC’02 SOC test benchmark. Experimental results show that lower testing time was obtained by this method compared to the other methods.
