News organisations represent themselves as bioscope on world affairs. World sees and believes what is presented in these bioscopes. But question is that who selects and feed contents in this bioscope. What is the purpose, motives and goal behind the selection? In executing their journalistic functions media got many safeguards in their respective home country. For example the constitution of U.S. provides freedom to press. So if go by theory, press in America got the powerful backing of constitution in carrying out their functions as the fourth pillar of the democracy. Invasion of Iraq blatantly exposed the true face of the corporate controlled Americanmedia. Today’s world is engulfed by giant multinational corporate houses. Unfortunately media are owned and anchored by the same corporate world they are tasked with covering. And there is close connection between government policies and corporate interests. Media played an active role to misguide and misinform the gullible American people in making them believe that US invasion of Iraq was a compulsion for the security and safety of America. Media collaborated with the Bush administration and most of the stories were presented before the American public uncritically. However, it seems strange and contrary to the popular perception as the American media is regarded as a watchdog of its democracy and sovereignty. One may ask the question why media behaved in such a fashion. Answer lies in the fact that who controls the media. And what is their interest and motivation to the issue of Iraq. A closer scrutiny of the media’s ownership reveals an interesting fact that Jews have overwhelming control over most of the big media houses whether electronic or print, who have very close interest with the question of Iraq. Paper tries to answer the role and relationship between The U.S. coverage of Iraq invasion and ownership of media.
